OUR MISSION

Through visionary programming and professional training, the Legacy Ballet Foundation of Arizona, based in Phoenix, is committed to educating emerging artists, while integrating professional quality performances through scholarships and outreach initiatives, within the community.

  • Through the art of ballet, to contribute to the well-being of society by educating, enhancing, enriching, and expanding the cultural lives of Arizona residents.

  • To create new ways to make dance accessible to a wider audience and maximize performance opportunities.

  • To educate the younger generation of ballet audiences and establish classical ballet as a significant component of young persons’ cultural lives.

  • To operate in an administratively and fiscally responsible manner that both facilitates and furthers the mission and goals of the organization.

​​Legacy Ballet Academy (LBA), the official school of Legacy Ballet Foundation, based in Phoenix, Arizona, is comprised of a full ballet training program which operates on the local school calendar, as well as offering seasonal performance productions.

Our goal is to bring real-world dance experiences to our dancers by performing classical repertory works, full-story length ballets and learning contemporary choreography along side current professional dancers. Through funding and community sponsorship, we can continue to provide these opportunities at low cost for our students.

Our research-based ballet curriculum provides the proper progression taking into consideration a child’s age, physical development, maturity and natural ability. Our ballet program starts at the fundamental beginnings and progresses through levels 1-8.

Legacy students have high standards, high goals and a high level of respect for their ballet training. Our program is to designed to offer challenge to each dancer on an individual level and provide a comfortable place to learn without intimidation. Master classes are taught throughout the year by prestigious guest artists from companies such as American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Ballet West,  Broadway artists and national university dance faculty. 

Our dancers have been accepted to national and international summer programs such as Grand Rapids Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, Ballet Arizona, Alvin Ailey, Houston Ballet, Pittsburg Ballet Theatre, Alonzo King LINES, Ballet West, Colorado Ballet, Boca Ballet Theatre, and The Rock School. As well as diverse programs on Broadway, Disney and scholarships for national conventions.

Our students have also been accepted to university dance programs at Indiana University, University of Arizona, Arizona State University, Grand Canyon University, University of California Irvine, Point Park, Butler and Southern Methodist University.
